- Affix the indicator to any gas tank in accordance with
the instructions on the packaging, ensuring that the lower
section of the tank is covered. The top of the indicator
is to the top of the packaging but if uncertain , simply
immerse the tip of either end in some hot water to identify
the "F'" for full, which goes to the top.
- To activate the indicator and measure the amount of gas
in a tank, pour about 125-150mls of very hot water down
the length of the indicator.
- The whole indicator will immediately change colour from
black to yellow. After a few seconds the portion of the
indicator below the surface level of the liquid gas in the
tank will darken and return to black. The area or line where
the two colours meet indicates the liquid gas level in the
tank.
- The whole indicator will revert to it’s original
black colour after a couple of minutes.
- If no colour change or only a faint colour change occurs
after applying the water, repeat the process using boiling
water.
- It is not necessary to remove the tank from your appliance
to take a reading of the gas level.
- If measuring the gas level in an indoor situation a sponge
and/or a small tray or dish can be placed at the base of
the tank beneath the indicator to collect the water.
